Cornerstone - Volunteers of America Texas- Euless/Ft. Worth

Volunteers of America Texas (VOATX) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities reach their full spiritual, emotional and physical potential and wellbeing through a vast array of services that target the elderly, the intellectually disabled, those striving to overcome substance abuse, and those transitioning from correctional centers. With a history of nearly 100 years of service in Texas, VOATX has a proven track record of compassionately serving and meeting the needs of some of Texas' most vulnerable residents, including: at-risk youth, elderly, individuals suffering from cognitive and developmental disabilities, individuals recovering from alcohol and substance abuse, former inmates, homeless men women and children, and veterans. However, with 287,000 seniors living below the poverty line; more than 1,037,000 disabled individuals; over 91,000 residents seeking treatment for addiction annually; and more than 65,000 inmates returning to their communities each year, the needs in Texas are far too vast for VOATX to address on its own. VOATX recognizes the importance and value of engaging the local community in its volunteer efforts to better serve clients. Our Year 3 VISTA member will play a significant role in establishing sustainability for our volunteer engagement efforts, changing the lives of those we serve. This is a great opportunity for you to embrace your passion for service and volunteerism while also gaining valuable experience within the non-profit community.
