Siena College AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows LEADER

Siena College VISTA Fellows (SCVF) is a part of the AmeriCorps VISTA Program, which is a national volunteer program that helps to build capacity in communities trying to get out of poverty. SCVF is helping to build long-term capacity systems in the communities we serve by creating sustainable connections to resources on our college campus. We are a multi-faceted program that provides a high level of training and enrichment to assist our VISTAs in their development as professionals and agents of change in the Capital Region. We also provide a variety of activities that allow our VISTA Fellows to connect to each other and increase their professional network within the Albany area. Our VISTA Leaders are central to this mission by serving as a coach and mentor to our 32 AmeriCorps VISTA Fellows and assisting with a variety of programmatic responsibilities including facilitating staff meetings, coordinating social activities, assisting with recruitment and more. As the Leaders support our VISTAs through their personal and professional development, they also serve as a liaison to other programs that operate out of the department our program is housed under, the Office of Academic Community Engagement. Such programs include the Bonner Service Leaders Program, Trailblazers Program, Academic Service Learning, Civic Engagement Camp, Summer Service Scholars Program and more. Leave your legacy. Join the Movement. Become a Siena College AmeriCorps* VISTA Leader.
