4th Judicial District Court

The Member will work at the 4th Judicial District Court in Minneapolis, MN. The Self Help Centers are funded and operated by the court and serve parties who are "self-represented" in their court actions. The Self Help Centers enhance public access to the court and are a primary source of public education about court procedures. The Self Help Center services also create efficiencies for the court. The department includes 3 components: 1. A walk-in Self Help Center for help with family court cases filed in the 4th Judicial District (Hennepin County) 2. A walk-in Self Help Center for help with court cases other than family to be filed in the 4th Judicial District, such as criminal expungement, eviction, harassment, name change, judgments and collections, etc. 3. A Statewide Virtual Self Help Center providing help with cases to be filed in any of the 87 county courthouses. Consisting of a website www.mncourts.gov/selfhelp and a call center staffed by 3 court attorneys, to answer questions the public may have in using the website and court forms. The Self Help Centers are an integral part of how the court does business, a strategic priority for the Judicial Branch, and a model for other states.
