ABC AmeriCorps of Sauk Valley Community College
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps Benefits the Community Program, better known as ABC AmeriCorps, is a national service program sponsored by Sauk Valley Community College, serving Lee. Whiteside, Carroll, Ogle, Bureau, and Henry counties in Illinois The area is predominantly rural. The participants in this program are called "members". Members serve in schools, after school programs and non-profit agencies.

Member Duties : The multi-focused program offers a variety of service opportunities: tutoring, mentoring and classroom activities for school-age children, homework help and enrichment activities after school, teaching life skills to children & adults with disabilities, STEM programming for fourth grade girls, resume, interview and job search training, Adult Education (GED) classroom support, capacity building service to non-profits, and summer enrichment programs. Members will be provided with a Prohibited Activity list and will be required to sign/date the Prohibited Activity form acknowledging and refraining from such activities.
