Louisiana CASA

LouisianaChildren.org supports evidence-based programs and services for vulnerable families. As the umbrella association for Louisiana CASA, CACLA and the Louisiana Advocacy Corps, we serve 33 member programs, in all 64 parishes in Louisiana. Our programs serve over 9,000 children every year and reach over 25,000 families and professionals. This partnership allows for an unprecedented collaborative effort that will improve outcomes for Louisiana's most vulnerable children and families. In 2013, 1,800 volunteers advocated for over 4,000 abused and neglected children. However, with nearly 7,000 children passing through the foster care system yearly, the need for CASA volunteers continues to grow. CACs are child-focused facilities that coordinate multi-disciplinary investigations of alleged child sexual abuse. They allow child victims a safe space to find hope and healing after traumatic events. VISTA positions are available with CASAs and CACs across Louisiana.
