The Ministry of Caring Inc

Join The Caring Corps and make an impact on the world you live in as you work with the poor and the homeless. The Ministry of Caring is currently recruiting individuals to join its new AmeriCorps program, The Caring Corps. Members of The Caring Corps will be based in Wilmington, Delaware, and will be serving to meet the needs of the poor and homeless. The Ministry of Caring is a community-based nonprofit organization that has been committed to serving the ongoing needs of the poor and homeless in the State of Delaware since 1977. The organization is deeply committed to and actively involved in developing and improving the quality of life for all individuals in the community, especially the most vulnerable. The Ministry of Caring currently operates 24 programs which include emergency shelters, transitional residences, permanent supportive housing facilities, dining rooms, infant and child care centers, a job placement center, a community center, a distribution center, and an outreach center. Homelessness is a major problem in the State of Delaware and is only increasing. Homelessness is caused by many factors such as a lack of affordable housing, chronic unemployment, and personal obstacles. The homeless and working poor face additional dire issues such as hunger and food insecurity, which affects people of all ages in the community. AmeriCorps members will be placed in programs throughout the Ministry of Caring and as a member of The Caring Corps, you will be working directly with Ministry of Caring clients. Members of The Caring Corps are committed to one year of community service during which they will develop valuable professional skills and contacts. As a member of The Caring Corps you will have the opportunity to bring positive change to those most in need!
