World Relief Sacramento VISTA Program Developer (LitMN)

World Relief Sacramento’s Digital Literacy Capacity Building VISTA Project addresses barriers to education and employment faced by underserved individuals due to digital exclusion. The project aims to build long-term capacity for culturally responsive digital literacy programming by developing curriculum, coordinating volunteers, and strengthening community partnerships. Key responsibilities include conducting a needs assessment, designing relevant and accessible learning materials, recruiting and training volunteers, and collaborating with community partners to expand access to training, equipment and connectivity. The VISTA project will also help establish tracking systems, identify funding sources, and support the creation of a digital literacy lab and virtual training infrastructure. Through mentorship and hands-on experience, the member will gain skills in nonprofit program development, community engagement, and strategic planning. This project supports economic mobility, civic engagement, and community belonging by equipping individuals with essential digital skills for full participation in today’s society. In addition to the benefits supplied directly through VISTA, the program developer will benefit from weekly 1:1 meetings with a supervisor, will be supplied all necessary technology (computer and possible partial cell-phone reimbursement), will receive transportation reimbursement for required driving, and will have access to professional networking and relevant training resources, including support toward professional certifications (i.e. Google Career Certification, in coordination with VISTA staff). To the degree possible, World Relief Sacramento will assist with locating housing through our local network
