Breathe SoCal Workforce Development VISTA

The Workforce Development VISTA member will expand workforce development programs by building the capacity for community outreach, training, and resources for economic opportunity and career development in Southern California. The VISTA member will support Breathe Southern California’s workforce development initiatives by expanding outreach, partnerships, and access to job training. Through community engagement, the member will connect with nonprofits, schools, government agencies, and stakeholders to increase awareness of economic opportunities and provide career development resources to underserved communities. Key responsibilities include developing workforce training sessions, workshops and career fairs focused on up-skilling, economic mobility, training programs, and employment. The VISTA member will develop and distribute educational materials on workforce opportunities, organization scholarships, and training programs while also supporting community engagement efforts through outreach activities. Additionally, the VISTA member will ensure smooth execution of workforce programs by developing the framework for events, tracking participation data, and supporting grant reporting efforts. They will help identify and address barriers preventing individuals from accessing job training and career development programs, ultimately empowering community members with the skills and knowledge needed to transition successfully into employment opportunities. By building capacity for workforce programs and strengthening partnerships, the VISTA member will play a critical role in expanding economic mobility and environmental workforce opportunities across Southern California.
