24-25 Dungeness River Nature Center Environmental Educator
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. The Dungeness River Nature Center is a nonprofit organization on the Olympic Peninsula. We aim to inspire understanding, respect, and stewardship of our natural and cultural resources. Our region is growing in ways that could threaten water quality, salmon habitat, and ecosystem health. This position helps address these issues through education and environmental stewardship. The member will focus on supporting our K-12 programs and community outreach. We expect to begin rolling interviews in late October/early November. The position will start mid-November - mid-December. Monthly stipend amount: $2,276.

Member Duties : The Environmental Education will help DRNC improve community stewardship or our area through education and outreach. They will develop and facilitate outdoor field trips and other K-12 school programs; visit local classrooms to lead programs and field trip pre and post visits; design and present educational programs and exhibits for the public in our new Nature Center; create social media posts and update website; implement community outreach activities at local events; assist with other related tasks such as summer camps and service projects.
