Ending Homelessness in Florida

Florida Coalition to End Homelessness (FCEH) is seeking a VISTA Member to further its mission to prevent and end homelessness in the State of Florida. The VISTA will be tasked to gather existing reports and other reliable information to determine the community cost of unsheltered homelessness, including the cost of police intervention, emergency room visits, mental health crisis-unit stays, jail stays, court costs. The FCEH Ending Homelessness in Florida Report will help facilitate conversation with leaders in the community, educate local Government and other community partners regarding solving homelessness. The completed report will highlight the shared mission of every homeless Continuum of Care and will be used show how communities can save their own resources and funding when supporting the effort to end homelessness. This VISTA program will help FCEH and the State’s Homeless Continuum of Care Lead Agencies prepare a State and local strategy to increase in-kind and cash resources to better serve individuals experiencing homelessness.
