Summer Reads – Promise Neighborhood of Central MN (LitMN)

Promise Neighborhood of Central MN is located in southeast Saint Cloud. Our organization is community-led. Community members develop and implement programs, serve on the board and in other leadership roles. This opportunity will allow the Summer Reads Mentor to assist our youth with literacy. We are looking for candidates that have an interest in youth and literacy, who take initiative, and are team players. Successful candidates will have opportunities for professional development, training, and leadership, access to social capital, and opportunities to work with community members and partner organizations. *Positions are part of Literacy Minnesota’s Summer Reads program, which trains and places more than 40 AmeriCorps VISTA members as literacy mentors for children (primarily K-5) in schools, libraries and out-of-school-time programs statewide. About half of members serve outside the Twin Cities metro.
