Communications and Community Engagement VISTA - McAllen, TX
 
 
 
The Texas Association of Charitable Clinics VISTA Program seeks to place members who are committed to national service and public health in the clinics throughout Texas that are dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to low-income individuals. VISTA Program members will be provided with on-going support and training, as well as invaluable experience in the healthcare field.

Member Duties : At HOPE Family Health Center, the third year VISTA will increase community awareness of HOPE services and develop new programs with a primary goal of community engagement. The VISTA will aim to build a culture of community engagement and increase awareness of HOPE activities and programs by coordinating with HOPE staff to remove common barriers regarding access to quality health care. Member activities include creating and publishing communication and outreach materials for community members and potential clients, recruiting volunteers and organizing events that create opportunities for community engagement, coordinating with care team and business analyst on weekly basis to assess communities and patients eligible for additional assistance, and reviewing and updating common resources binder and services provided by collaborating organizations for services not offered at HOPE.
