College Factory VISTA 2023

The mission of College Factory is to provide college planning resources to youth and families in the community in order to build a culture that values post-secondary education in Athens-Clarke County. We encourage youth to complete the process of enrolling in post-secondary education toward the goal of increasing the graduation rate and fostering a better prepared, more competitive workforce. Volunteers from local colleges and universities, along with community members, make up the caring, passionate, and experienced individuals who assist in running College Factory programs. College Factory offers high school-aged students access to post-secondary coaching and ACT/SAT test preparation. Additionally, our program delivers community workshops with post-secondary access and retention goals. College Factory’s Go Succeed Fellowship program pairs high school students with post-secondary coaches who guide the students through the admissions process. The personal attention from College Factory coaches helps ensure the success of College Factory Fellows. Free awareness and planning workshops to help students and their families sort through post-secondary options and make choices appropriate to their skills and goals are offered regularly.
