Generation Teach AmeriCorps Summer Teaching Fellowship
 
 
 
WHO WE ARE: Generation Teach is committed to ending racial injustice and inequity in education. Our mission is to co-create loving communities where generations of students, teachers, and leaders learn, grow, and develop. We offer AmeriCorps Summer Teaching Fellowships for college undergraduates and high-school students to try teaching in our GT STEAM Academy. WHO YOU ARE: 1. You are an undergraduate or high-school student who shares our core values. 2. You value contributing to a diverse community. 3. You want to invest your summer in the success of others. 4. You are eager to receive coaching to become the teacher your students deserve. WHAT YOU WILL DO: 1. Complete pre-summer and in-person training 2. Teach or co-teach elementary or middle-school math, engineering, reading, or law; and one enrichment class; and co-lead fun events. 3. Receive daily feedback and collaborate with your colleagues WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE: 1. AmeriCorps Teaching Fellows will receive $4,775. Funding includes a taxed, cash living allowance of $3,241 and a $1,459 AmeriCorps Education Award after the successful completion of the fellowship. 2. You will receive individual career counseling and support 3. You will develop relationships with students, colleagues, and leaders that will stay with you for years to come. Member Duties : 1. Complete pre-summer preparation and in-person training to get ready to teach on day 1. 2. Teach elementary- (Boston or Cumberland, RI) or middle-school students (Boston, Denver, Dallas, Holyoke, Providence, Worcester, or Washington) engineering, law, math, or reading and one enrichment for 5 weeks. 3. Receive daily feedback and collaborate with your colleagues. 4. Plan and co-lead fun events that foster team-building and engage students. 5. Grow as a learner, teacher, and leader while connecting with people, passion, and purpose.
