Member Duties : The Environmental Education Specialist will support the City of Vancouver’s work to engage the community in water conservation through outreach and education. They will collaborate with staff to offer community programming for events such as Earth Day; create content for social media platforms and other communication tools; recruit and train volunteers; coordinate public lectures;lead stewardship events for individuals and groups of volunteers; develop, teach, and support school age field trips and teacher workshops focused on water systems; evaluate events and programs; serve collaboratively with and mentor college interns; assist with obtaining Backyard Habitat Certification through creation of interpretive signs; interpret exhibits for visitors and contribute to City of Vancouver AmeriCorps team projects.
