22-23 Highline Public Schools Pathway Coach

Highline Public Schools serves approximately 19,000 students in the communities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, Boulevard Park and White Center Heights in Washington State. Starting in the fall of 2012, the Highline community came together to develop a four-year strategic plan outlining the community’s bold goals and big dreams for its children. The plan’s promise is that every student in Highline Public Schools is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates prepared for the future they choose. Our Pathway Coaches will focus their supports on 11th and 12th grade students. Recent Student Survey data showed that while nearly 97% of students want to attend a post secondary program very few of them feel like they have a step-by-step plan to get into the post secondary program of their choice. The Pathway Coaches will focus on support 11th & 12th grade students who have identified that they do not have a step-by-step plan. We will use data and our College Bound Scholarship list to identify students who need additional supports and they will work with a Pathway Coach throughout the year to identify next steps, develop skills, stay on track academically, and get connected to college & career programs, resources, and supports. This position is contingent on funding and is open until filled.
