Join Ohio’s first-ever statewide My Brother’s Keeper Network. MBK Ohio is a statewide coalition of communities and leaders dedicated to improving outcomes for boys and young men and creating opportunities for all of Ohio’s youth. This VISTA project will seek to improve the effectiveness of statewide programmatic coordination in education and workforce development for low-income youth and their families in the following MBK Ohio chapter communities: Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Lima, Lincoln Heights, Mansfield, Springfield, Summit County, Toledo, and Youngstown.

Member Duties : AmeriCorps VISTA member will serve as key points of contact for MBK initiatives within their community. As a VISTA, you will conduct a variety of duties to help build capacity for initiatives to advance educational and economic opportunities for historically underrepresented youth. VISTAS will conduct the following activities: Recruit and help track volunteers through a data management system; plan and organize targeted outreach and engagement efforts within their communities; assist with program evaluation and data collection; help design a community assessment and local action plan; assist with social media and communications support; build partnerships with potential employers to secure positions for youth and families; work with organizations and schools to help provide job skills training and education supports.
