Arizona Serve - Medical Reserve Corps - COVID Response Coord

** Applications accepted on a rolling basis. The Yavapai County Medical Reserve Corps was formed in 2003 to establish a team of active and retired medical professionals, non-medical laypersons, and public health professionals to help during medical or public health threats or emergencies that overwhelm current hospital resources. They often respond to and provide services for the most vulnerable of our communities and target those living in poverty. Since the events of 9/11, the MRC has played an important role in Yavapai County’s preparedness and response strategy. MRC volunteers may be called to participate in responses for mass vaccination or antibiotic dispensing, mass medical care, disease control, or providing for the health needs of vulnerable populations, including sheltering. The need an importance of such a group since the COVID-19 pandemic is even more integral and vital. The AmeriCorps VISTA will develop strategies to integrate volunteers into department's and partners' response plans and coordinate the county’s emergency phone bank. They will evaluate the program effectiveness and build communication strategies. COVID-19 Considerations: Yavapai County does have remote work options. In person interactions will follow physical distancing recommendations. Masks will be required when appropriate.
