Literacy Minnesota-Children's Virtual Tutoring (LitMN)

Literacy Minnesota is a state-wide nonprofit organization that has been supporting adult and children’s literacy programs for over 50 years. During the Covid-19 pandemic, literacy programs in our statewide children’s tutoring network have struggled to figure out how to move in-person tutoring into the virtual arena. With very few models to follow, programs have struggled providing service. As a result, the many children who rely on in-person and afterschool tutoring programs have not received the extra help that they need. The Children’s Virtual Tutoring Initiative will help organizations develop and deliver high-quality virtual tutoring during the pandemic and beyond. The Literacy Leader will work closely with staff in an established non-profit and have the opportunity to interact with and learn from staff and volunteers from a wide variety of educational and non-profit organizations. They will be able to build and apply their understanding of children’s literacy, distance education, research, materials development and non-profit management. We are looking for applicants who are interested in children’s literacy instruction. Applicants should be comfortable enough with their digital literacy skills to help guide others forward. Join us!
