AZ Refugee Resettlement- Economic Empowerment VISTA

The Arizona Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) VISTA Project’s mission is to support refugees’ effective resettlement in Arizona. Refugees face a wide variety of difficult challenges in achieving self-sufficiency. These challenges include such issues as becoming familiar with their new country, securing an affordable place to live, finding and retaining employment, acquiring a new language, and pursuing education options for their children. RRP is looking to recruit a VISTA member that would help support and promote clients as they search for employment. The assignment will begin in mid-February 2022 and last through mid-February 2023 and be assigned in Tucson, Arizona. The goal of the VISTA position is to increase the reach and effectiveness of the International Rescue Committee's (IRC) Economic Empowerment Unit including IRC refugee resettlement employment programs. To reach these goals, the Economic Empowerment VISTA will focus on three major areas; enhancing capacity of employment staff, increasing employer base, and enhancing the Job Readiness Training curriculum. The internally-focused and client-facing activities will enhance the variety and reach of the IRC Economic Empowerment Unit.
