24-25 Orcas Island Food Bank Operations & Volunteer Coor
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. We are a community food pantry on Orcas Island in San Juan County, Washington. Our mission is to work with our community to prevent hunger. Many in our community struggle with the decision to pay bills or eat healthy food. Our work ensures that heathy food support is available. The member will serve with, lead, and train volunteers. They will focus on customer service and operational support. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. We are an equal opportunity provider. These positions may have staggered starts in September and October. Monthly stipend amount: $3,561.

Member Duties : The Operations and Volunteer Coordinator supports the Orcas Island Food Bank's work by preparing and distributing food to those experiencing food insecurity in our community. They sort, restock, pack, and distribute food; coordinate volunteers; greet, register, and take special requests from customers; support operations and logistics through order and donation acceptance, inventory tracking, etc.; plan and implement communication through email, signage, etc.
