23-24 Orcas Island Operations & Volunteer Coordinator
We are a community food pantry on Orcas Island in San Juan County, Washington. Our mission is to work with our community to prevent hunger. As many in our community struggle with the decision to pay bills or eat healthy, our work ensures that healthy food support is available. As an Operations and Volunteer Coordinator, you will serve alongside, lead, and train volunteers, serve customers, and support the distribution of healthy foods. Bilingual Spanish/English speaking applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. We are an equal opportunity provider. This is an Americorps national service position. This position is contingent upon funding and open until filled.

Member Duties : As a service member at the Orcas Island Food Bank, you play a vital role in the weekly preparation and distribution of food to those experiencing food insecurity in our community. Primary function are sorting and restocking food, volunteer coordination, customer service, and registration, distributing food, and packing food bags. Duties also include order and donation acceptance and light admin. Tasks might include internal and external email communications, making lists, creating and printing signage, and taking and reporting on inventory.
