DCF Outreach Specialist Catholic Charities-Orlando Aug 2021
 
 
 
The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), Refugee Services Program is partnering with the Corporation for National and Community Service to increase services to refugees living in Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Tallahassee, Broward, Palm Beach, and Orlando by building capacity and coordinating activities and services between seven (7) participating organizations. DCF Refugee Services is serving as the VISTA project sponsor and is providing oversight and overall coordination for the project. The project will engage thirteen (13) VISTA members and seven (7) non-profit organizations on a variety of projects to help resettled refugees achieve economic self-sufficiency and community integration. This coordinated effort will help these organizations to provide increased services to refugees who are making the difficult transition of adjusting to life in America. The VISTA living allowance for this particular position is $542.22 bi-weekly.

Member Duties : The recruited AmeriCorps member will assume the position of "VISTA Outreach Specialist" with Catholic Charities of Central Florida in Orange County, Florida. The Living Allowance is $542.22 bi-weekly. The goal of this VISTA position is to assist the Comprehensive Refugee Services (CRS) Program in promoting program services within the Tri-County area so that eligible individuals become knowledgeable of all available CRS services. The VISTA member will help develop and enhance the agencies current marketing tools, such as the website, social media services, and promotional materials necessary for both specific programs and organization-wide marketing efforts. Tasks include: (1) Develop an outreach strategy targeting individuals who are eligible for services (2) Communicate with relevant cultural organizations and other providers that are frequented by eligible populations. (3) Help develop informational materials targeting the different eligible populations in the Central Florida
