Austin Public Health Early Childhood VISTA

The Austin Public Health Early Childhood VISTA will work to stabilize the child care sector that has been negatively impacted by COVID-19, to ensure the sustainability of affordable, high-quality child care for children and families in Austin. Connecting children and families with affordable, high-quality early education and information to support child development increases the likelihood those children will have success in elementary school and beyond, and earn higher wages in the future. Access to child care also helps the parents stay in the workforce, or advance through it by continuing education. In addition, stabilizing the child care sector benefits the child care work force, the majority of whom are low-income women of color.
