Volunteer Iowa Communications VISTA
 
 
 
Volunteer Iowa (Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service) is looking for an energetic VISTA member to promote, develop and advance the cause of nonprofit organizations across the state with specific focus on mentoring programs for youth and young adults. Mentoring connects a young person with supports to attain self-sufficiency. The Future Ready Iowa Mentoring program, Iowa Mentoring Partnership programs and a multitude of Volunteer Iowa program partners support academic achievement and attainment for students K-16 and support nontraditional college students in overcoming barriers to employment and attaining advancing degrees that help them meet the hiring demands of employers. This is an outstanding opportunity for a member who would like to advance programming to support underserved students in academic achievement and gain professional experience in the nonprofit and government sector.

Member Duties : Interview program participants and write stories. Analyze program data and create marketing materials to share information. Assist with rebranding strategy. Develop and execute an effective social media campaign. Review existing websites; create and implement plan to update and modify content and structure for consistency and ease of navigation. Analyze social media data and provide guidelines for improving outreach.
