Climate Adaptation Research Analyst

This position is offered through the DLNR's AmeriCorps VISTA Program with support from the Corporation for National and Community Service. The Climate Adaptation Research Analyst will strengthen the State of Hawaii’s(“State”) coordinated effort to increase the resiliency of island communities, especially those most vulnerable to climate impacts. Serving with the Office of Planning, Coastal Zone Management Branch and Sustainability Branch (“OP”), the VISTA will play a key role in building capacity to address the impacts of climate change in island communities, with particular focus on strategies that support low-income and ALICE communities for whom poverty creates disproportionate economic burdens to adapt. The VISTA will support OP goals to increase community resilience and equitably prepare vulnerable populations for future climate scenarios.
