Community Engagement VISTA
 
 
 
The Community Engagement VISTA will focus on outreach with the community to strengthen community support for agency activities. Specifically, the project will focus on enhancing systems for volunteer management, community awareness activities, and event planning. The member will engage with Iowa Welcome Corps partners to share best practices and coordinate volunteer activities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of VISTAs working with refugees and immigrants in central Iowa.

Member Duties : The VISTA member’s service will focus on the following key objectives: • To foster collaboration and connections with community partners and extend reach by spreading awareness about the agency’s work. • To coordinate volunteer services within the organization to ensure strong connections between the volunteers, agency, and clients. To maintain or enhance volunteer management systems and ensure that the agency reaches targets for volunteer engagement. • To build operational capacity for the agency through improvement of systems for interacting with community. • To foster relationships that promote inter-agency collaboration and professional development opportunities.
