OneStar Foundation VISTA Leader - Communication & Engagement

Do you love breakfast tacos and live music? How about kayaking, tubing, BBQ and food trucks? OneStar Foundation (OneStar), located in sunny Austin, Texas is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to strengthen the capacity of the nonprofit infrastructure to enable communities to more effectively solve social challenges. As part of this mission, OneStar established the OneStar Foundation Statewide VISTA Intermediary Program in 2014. OneStar AmeriCorps VISTAs are fighting poverty through their service in Disaster Services, Economic Opportunity, Education, and Healthy Futures. OneStar is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader to provide leadership, peer development, and training to OneStar VISTA members across Texas. The OneStar VISTA Leader will also help recruit, coordinate, train and support OneStar VISTAs to help them maximize their individual and collective impact. As a VISTA Leader, you will have the opportunity to play a key leadership role in program development and help members build a lifelong connection to service. **Note: you must have successfully completed one-year at least one year of VISTA service, or one full term of full-time service (serving 1,700 hours or more) with either AmeriCorps State and National or AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), or at least one traditional term of Peace Corps service to serve as a VISTA Leader.**

Member Duties : The OneStar VISTA Leader will increase member effectiveness and strengthen the VISTA project through various member support strategies in collaboration with the co-VISTA Leader. The VISTA leader will serve as a mentor to VISTA members to work through problems and challenges. Increase VISTA project success by supporting recruitment processes and develop strategic analysis to improve recruitment initiatives. Create thoughtful content & build awareness of the OneStar VISTA program by showcasing the impact, community connection, and appreciation of VISTA members. The VISTA Leader will conduct quarterly Communications Audit to develop and execute strategies that increase audience reach for recruitment, show our commitment to VISTA members, and help. Build more connectivity among our partnering programs through various social media platforms. Support VISTA Program staff through the creation of social media content plans.
