Volunteer Program Coordinator
 
 
 
City Slicker Farms increases wellness and builds community through equitable access to healthy food, thriving gardens, and urban green spaces. Based in West Oakland, we partner with low and fixed income communities, communities of color, youth, and elders throughout Alameda County to create a more just and equitable food system. We are looking for a creative, thoughtful and organized person who is excited about connecting with and growing our volunteer community. The main goals of the Volunteer Program Coordinator will be to evaluate, build and assess how we are currently engaging volunteers across our programs. They will increase follow up, update tracking methodology of volunteer hours and outcomes, offer committed volunteers additional roles, and create pathways for engaging volunteers as thought partners or leaders. Duties will include volunteer system oversight (outreach, recruitment, sign ups, thank you-s, strategizing how to maintain and grow volunteer engagement), managing volunteers, creating training activities, and establishing volunteer appreciation practices.

Member Duties : The Volunteer Program Coordinator will create better volunteer recruitment and management infrastructure, policies and procedures. This position will increase follow up, update tracking methodology of volunteer hours and outcomes, offer committed volunteers additional roles, and create pathways for engaging volunteers as thought partners or leaders. The VISTA will also analyze how volunteers have been used in the past and how they might be used in new ways to expand upon our work; create formal volunteer job descriptions, recruitment processes, screening tools, and training activities; and develop retention strategies and volunteer appreciation programs. Duties will include volunteer system oversight (outreach, recruitment, sign ups, thank you-s, strategizing how to maintain and grow volunteer engagement), managing volunteers, creating training activities, and establishing volunteer appreciation practices.
