FCS-RSVP-SSAG Program Coordinator
 
 
 
The Senior Support Action Group (SSAG) is a coalition of community partners working together to provide seniors with access to food, transportation, and companionship in Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties. The VISTA will work out of the Lisbon office and will require some travel in all three counties. The VISTA will develop, maintain, and create community partnerships to expand upon the services being provided to seniors in the tri-county area. Community outreach and marketing will be key to raising awareness of the program and its services as well as to reach volunteers who are vital to providing SSAG services. The VISTA will also be asked to research and apply for and develop funding opportunities. To improve the program’s impact and efficiency, the VISTA will assess and revise volunteer and client management systems which may require identifying and securing technologies and software. An ideal candidate will have some experience in community organizing, marketing, and be proficient in both verbal and written communication. The candidate must be comfortable speaking in public and working on a team. During their service, the VISTA will be provided opportunities to build personal and professional relationships and to attend professional trainings. The VISTA will join a supportive staff who will be available to assist in the VISTA’s professional growth, and the VISTA will have the opportunity to meet and work with various community agencies and partners while developing and adding to their skill sets. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in learning more about the nonprofit sector, who would like to add to their professional resume, who is interested in public health and/or working with seniors, and who has a passion for volunteerism.

Member Duties : The VISTA will be responsible for increasing community awareness of the program and its service as well as developing, maintaining, and creating community partnerships to improve and expand upon services provided. The VISTA will research, apply for, and develop funding opportunities to sustain and grow the program’s capacity. The VISTA will also assess current volunteer and client management systems, recommend changes for efficiency, and implement those changes.
