2020 Habitat Home Repairs VISTA - Baraboo, WI

Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Nearly 20% of Wisconsin residents pay more than 50% of their family income for housing. With an already large but increasing need for affordable housing in our state, the 38 local Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Wisconsin are working hard to address that need by partnering with low-income families to build, rehab or repair homes. The Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA program’s goal is to strengthen affiliates and increase their capacity. With passion, commitment, and hard work our VISTA members help affiliates as they bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Serving Columbia, Iowa and Sauk Counties, Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area has its main offices in charming, historic Baraboo, home of the University of Wisconsin - Baraboo, and located near beautiful Devil’s Lake State Park. HFH Wisconsin River Area has built over 50 homes since its founding, and is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
