Norwescap AmeriCorps member

Norwescap's AmeriCorps project will dramatically expand the organization's capacity to build the financial empowerment of our participants. Nineteen full-time AmeriCorps members will help Norwescap build on its successful programs by replicating the evidence-based Financial Opportunity Centers model created by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). These members will partner with Norwescap staff to provide employment coaching, financial coaching and case management support to 5,000 low-to-moderate income residents of northwest New Jersey each year. Expected outcomes include improved financial knowledge, increased job readiness, obtaining new employment and gains in financial well-being as evidenced by net worth and credit scores. Each role is given an annual living allowance of $20,400 paid out on a bi-weekly basis. Each full-time member is eligible for an education award paid out at the end of the term of service Roles cover five counties: Warren, Huntertown, Sussex, Somerset and Morris.
