Iowa COVID-19 Recovery AmeriCorps
 
 
 
AmeriCorps members will deliver support to meet the basic needs of Iowans, lending a hand to organizations that are experiencing challenges due to the pandemic and natural disaster. AmeriCorps members may address four key needs: (1) food insecurity, (2) volunteer management, (3) independent living needs and (4) direct response activities as identified by the State Emergency Operations Center. Summer Positions are 30-35 Hours per week and are listed on our website.

Member Duties : The specific service activities of AmeriCorps members will be defined by each host site to meet local community needs. Examples of direct services members may provide include planting, maintaining and harvesting a community garden; supporting school-aged residents of affordable housing communities by coordinating access to the internet, providing remote assistance with virtual learning, and addressing food insecurity; organizing food bank activities such as confirming, scheduling, filling and delivering orders; or aiding volunteer recruitment and training efforts.
