Iowa COVID-19 Recovery AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps members will deliver support to meet the basic needs of Iowans, lending a hand to organizations that are experiencing challenges due to the pandemic and natural disaster. AmeriCorps members may address four key needs: (1) food insecurity, (2) volunteer management, (3) independent living needs and (4) direct response activities as identified by the State Emergency Operations Center. Members at some host sites will serve as a cultural bridge for the local refugee community by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate support to navigate local organizations and government institutions. Full and part time service opportunities are available.
