Texas Homeless Network Coalition Coordinator Longview Y2
 
 
 
The Texas Homeless Network (THN) works to provide solutions to end homelessness in Texas communities through education, resources and advocacy. Currently, THN has VISTA members placed throughout the state working on capacity building and program development to assist communities in ending homelessness. This VISTA Leader position will expand capacity to more effectively address issues surrounding homelessness and housing stability throughout the state of Texas. The project will enhance the THN VISTA Program’s impact by increasing support for VISTA members, developing new enhanced processes, and creating new tools for VISTA members and site supervisors. The outcome will allow community partners to expand their efforts to provide housing and other services to persons at-risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member in this position will serve with the City of Longview’s Continuum of Care (CoC) Program and the local coalition to: 1.) Assess, improve, and expand processes to assist with coordination of coalition events: Point-in-Time count and coalition meetings. 2.) Conduct any assessments necessary in identifying the ongoing gaps or needs of the coalition. 3.) Coordinate with coalition members in developing plans and structure for ongoing website, marketing materials, press releases, and a membership listserv. 4.) Create and distribute marketing materials for new programs, events, and updates. 5.) Assist with improvement of data quality and distribution. 6.) Develop process to ensure coalition receives timely updates on grant requirements and training.
