AmeriCorps | Florida VISTA Network VISTA Leader AFVN

The AmeriCorps | Florida VISTA Network, hosted by Florida State University, aligns with the mission of AmeriCorps by placing VISTA members with colleges, universities and community-based organizations in order to eliminate poverty in local communities. The AmeriCorps | Florida VISTA Network provides resources, networking opportunities, and training for AmeriCorps members. VISTAs work to combat poverty through leveraging higher education resources to build the capacity of local non-profit organizations and through recruiting and training college students to provide college access mentoring for low income youth. A|FVN members are successfully building bridges between the classrooms and communities by connecting educators, students, and community partners to improve education and address societal needs through campus-community partnerships, applied civic education, and engaged citizenship. The start date for this position is based upon the availability of the qualified candidate having completed a full year of service as either a VISTA member, an AmeriCorps State and National member (1700 hour term), an NCCC member or at least one traditional term of service as a Peace Corps Volunteer - RPCV's who completed partial terms due to COVID-19 will also be eligible, dependent on time served.
