If so, Communities In Schools of Central Texas would love to meet you! The Volunteer & Corporate Engagement VISTA will support our network of amazing community volunteers, as well as have the unique opportunity to research, design and develop a new program for engaging local businesses in our mission. Gain experience in a high-performing nonprofit serving thousands of youth. Hands-on learning about community outreach, engagement and volunteering programs. Research and design a new program offering that will increase volunteerism and career & college readiness opportunities for local students. Collaborate with a diverse stakeholders: community volunteers, nonprofit communications & development department leadership, youth social services staff and local employer partners. Live in sunny Austin, Texas! If you are detail-oriented, strategic, motivated and have excellent communication and collaboration skills, we can teach you the rest. Your work will lay the foundation for a program that will support young people for years to come.

Member Duties : The Volunteer & Corporate Engagement VISTA will update our volunteer onboarding processes with two key goals in mind: to increase % of volunteer applicants who successfully onboard, and importantly, to reduce the large administrative burden on CIS staff. The VISTA will create a more streamlined, automated, and digitally-driven process. In terms of the corporate engagement strategy, this VISTA will give us the capacity to conduct extensive research develop new program infrastructure, guidelines and performance metrics. Once that structure is developed, the program will be run through an inter-departmental collaboration, with the following roles: Community Outreach Specialist (corporate volunteer opportunities & engagement), members of the Development department (corporate recruitment into the program), Sr. Director of Communications (corporate recognition), and a future CIS “Success in Life” department (connecting students to job shadowing and internship opportunities).
