ABLE Early Childhood

Individuals serving in the ABLE Early Childhood program enhance the quality and impact of early childhood programming in Western New York. The ABLE Early Childhood program focuses on early childhood school readiness and addresses the need for more prepared early childhood teachers to work with ethnically diverse, low-income urban populations. ABLE Early Childhood members will serve full-time for seven months in an early childhood classroom in WNY and implement evidence-based math games to increase student math comprehension. Members serve alongside lead teachers and are coached on early childhood teaching techniques. Members also receive Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential training through the Child Care Resource Network. ABLE Early Childhood provides the tools to help members build careers in early childhood education and more effectively prevent future academic and developmental delays for students.
