Project Coordinator for Social Justice Center

Emmaus seeks to empower and promote racial equity among homeless families, primarily single mothers and their children, through programming and services offered at the D'Youville Center including, but not limited to: Career Services, Empowerment Project, Family Enrichment activities, and the Food Distribution Center. The Empowerment Project helps adults (primarily black and brown women) reduce stress, build self-esteem, define their aspirations, embrace their inner strengths, forge healthy relationships, improve their communication skills and access tools that will foster economic and emotional self-sufficiency. Family enrichment activities are designed to engage parents and children in fun educational activities. Developing solid community partnerships, recruiting and engaging trained volunteers, creating high-impact programming, and generating adequate cash and in-kind resources to support these programs will promote long-term sustainability.
