Tech Changers 2.0
In 2018, Tech Changers embarked on a mission to disrupt disparity in computer science (CS) and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math.) To support our mission, we provide opportunities for all students in the Howard County area, including those who are traditionally underrepresented in CS and STEM, to increase exposure and gain confidence in the pursuit of CS/STEM careers. Programs are available for students from grades 4th – 12th. Thanks to the generous support of the USRA STEMaction Center, who provide support in the form of space - free of charge, we are able to offer all of our programs for free. Currently our programs range from physical computing classes for elementary students to clubs for girls via Girls Who Code and co-ed makerspace and outreach events. In 2019-20 season, over 100 students have attended our classes and clubs and we have reached hundreds more via outreach at events like: The Code in Schools CS Summit, APL’s Girl Power, and the MD STEM Festival.
