City of Austin Parks and Recreations Planning VISTA

The VISTA at the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) will help Parks Planning Division create programs that bring green spaces to underserved communities through the Community Activated Park Project Program (CAPP) and Cities Connecting Children to Nature initiative (CCCN). CAPP activates communities to focus resources on regions with higher health challenges to end cycles of poverty through public programming. The VISTA will build sustainability by creating resources and connections in low income communities to access the CAPP program. CCCN is a national initiative that seeks to create more equitable and abundant access to nature in cities, and the VISTA will coordinate program management of the initiative.
