2023 ACSGW Summer Camp/After School Tutoring Program
 
 
 
The “Fun, Food, Fitness & Fundamentals” (FFF&F) Summer Camp Program is a free camp for under-privileged and under-served elementary age children, in the first through fifth grades. The program will be offered for the fifth consecutive year at Galway Elementary School, in Silver Spring, Maryland. The camp operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Adventist Community Services partners with local government and other non-profits to offer this opportunity. The community partners involved in the summer camp are: • Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington, Inc. (ACSGW); • Montgomery County Recreation Department (Rec. Dept.); • Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS); • Manna Food Center (Manna), and • Strathmore.

Member Duties : The Vista will engage in the following activities to assist in enhancing and expanding the program: 1. Improve monitoring and evaluation techniques - through research and design; 2. Better match Making Tracks Academic Enrichment program curriculum to align with State of Maryland Common Core Standards, and Maryland Model for School Readiness, rather than National Standards - through research and coordination with Montgomery County Public Schools. 3. Increase funding for the program’s sustainability and expansion – through research, developing grant proposals and meetings with local government and business leaders.
