Aging in Place and Service Coordinator - CVCOA/VHCB
 
 
 
Central Vermont Council on Aging (CVCOA) has an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about community engagement, direct service to others, and improving the lives of older Central Vermonters. This Volunteer Outreach and Direct Service Coordinator will reimagine and build partnerships with community members and organizations to create a local network of direct support services for older Vermonters. This individual will also recruit and engage volunteers and provide some short-term services to help older adults at home. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to transition to a new career or desire an enriching gap year experience. CVCOA Mission and Vision: To support Central Vermonters to age with dignity and choice in a world where aging is honored. Service is performed in a shared office setting, with times out of the office for meeting with community partners, volunteer recruitment and matching or performing direct services at home sites. This position is: Reduced Half Time Requires 690 hours for an average of 40 hours per week. Member will receive a living allowance of $10,324 (pre-tax), a monthly housing allowance of $300, for a total living allowance of $11,824 for the term. Member will receive an education award of $2,626.27 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : • Build community partnerships & capacity: serve with orgs to grow a network of local supports for older adults in the community. • Engage volunteers: recruit volunteers through outreach, including traditional & social media, presentations to community partners, & other public events. • Participate in the continued maintenance of the volunteer data system to measure client need & outcomes • Provide in-home services: provide short-term (2-3 visits) assistance with household tasks, grocery shopping, transportation to medical appointments & community engagements & friendly visits • Develop & strengthen skills in leadership & human services: by participating in trainings, teamwork, community service learning, supervision & meetings with CVCOA staff • Participate in VHCB AmeriCorps Trainings, Service Days, Events, & Program Initiatives.
