Austin Public Health Fast Track Cities VISTA

The VISTA will provide support through the Fast Track Cities Initiative to expand access to services and education for low-income individuals living with and affected by HIV and facilitate activities to expand programs that provide health and financial benefits. The Fast Track Cities Initiative focuses on events and forums that will target populations that face health disparities. By creating sustainable solutions to address health disparities and issues that disproportionately affect low-income populations, the project will work to break the cycle of poverty.

Member Duties : Maintain current partners and expand engagement to other Austin/Travis County groups whose work achieves the outcome goals of the Fast-Track Cities Action plan and continue to build capacity to create and coordinate the Fast Track Cities Action Plan. The Action Plan is a collection of community-drive strategies that have been identified to address critical health needs for people living with or at risk of acquiring HIV. Develop promotional and training materials for Fast Track Cities forums, work groups, and community engagement meetings that will work to educate community members about the Fast Track Cities Action Plan. By August 2021, collaborate with the HIV Planning Council to implement at least one needs assessment activity that will be used to drive the prioritization of strategies within the Fast Track Cities Action Plan to support low income and underserved populations.
