African-American Youth Harvest Foundation VISTA (Austin)
 
 
 
The VISTA will build the capacity of the African American Youth Harvest Foundation (AAYHF) to address disparities and break the cycle of poverty in Austin through the assessment and improvement of the Foundation's services, development of policies and procedures, and development of new funding relationships and avenues. The cycle of poverty will be broken through the impact that improved and increased services have on the outcomes of at-risk youth and families facing poverty and transitioning them out of crisis to self-sufficiency.

Member Duties : Increase AAYHF’s capacity to expand impactful programming through development of new funding relationships and avenues. Research potential funding prospects; make recommendations for pursuit of funding applications based on fit with current organizational and programmatic direction; and assist in drafting and submitting 2-3 funding applications per month. Promote AAYHF fundraising, programmatic and capacity building campaigns and events through the development of attractive visual materials and implementation of various communications methods. Support AAYHF’s emerging strategic initiatives through collection, compilation and analysis of data, and creation of recommendations. Increase AAYHF’s potential for meaningful impact through assessment and improvement of AAYHF’s development of programs, policies and procedures. Work closely with AAYHF program and operational leaders to evaluate and improve and practices and procedures.
