Cultural Leadership is a youth education and leadership nonprofit organization. Based in St. Louis, we are dedicated to creating a more just community by developing area youth to be the next generation of civil rights leaders. Our mission is to create a more just and equitable community by educating middle school, high school and college students to recognize and resolve issues of privilege and injustice through the lens of the African American and Jewish experience.

Member Duties : Inequitable and unjust systems are at the root of generational poverty in St. Louis. As a result of the VISTA’s service, Cultural Leadership will be able to better develop young social justice leaders, including those from low-income communities, with the necessary knowledge and skills to bring awareness and change to those systems that perpetuate poverty. The Programs VISTA will build the capacity of Cultural Leadership by developing and implementing new sustainable programming for students and alumni, including a social justice summer camp for middle school students. Additionally, the Programs VISTA will create strategies to give Cultural Leadership access to a more robust pool of applicants and enhance student recruitment processes.
 
Program Benefits : $150 housing subsidy at select locations ,  Living Allowance ,  Training ,  Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend ,  Health Coverage* ,  Relocation Allowance ,  Childcare assistance if eligible ,  Housing .
