Arizona Angel Initiative Coordinator - Pinal County

This is the second year of AZ Angel Initiative’s implementation in Pinal County. During the first year, the VISTA member’s service was focused on community outreach and education in San Tan Valley. For the second year, the program expands to bring the initiative to Gold Canyon and Apache Junction, continuing to expand upon the work previously done in San Tan Valley to reach additional communities within Pinal County. The goal of the project is that the VISTA Members will increase awareness and participation in the Arizona Angel Initiative, a program that allows police to connect individuals struggling with addiction with treatment resources in the community. The VISTA member will serve as a liaison between the Pinal County Attorney and Sheriff, treatment providers, community stakeholders, the probation department, individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorder, the GOYFF and other public/private partnerships in the community.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will assist in developing program materials, and conduct outreach into the community to increase awareness and support for the Angel Initiative in Pinal County.
