United Way Suncoast Financial Stability VISTA

Now, more than ever, our families need connections to local financial stability supports. Since March 2020, unemployment has more than doubled and families struggle to make ends meet. The more we unite community resources to support United Way Suncoast Fund, Advocate, Collaborate, and Educate (FACE) 2024 goals, the closer we come to ensuring that individuals and families in Manatee and Sarasota Counties have access to the resources and education needed to become financially stable. As a Financial Stability AmeriCorps VISTA, you have the power to make a big impact in the lives of others in our local community. You will build the capacity and expand programming in signature asset development programs such as Financial Coaching, VITA and BankOn, programs that have a proven record of providing increases in economic opportunity. In your service year, you can expect to review and recommend enhancements to these programs as well as amplify efforts to ensure a steady supply of volunteers, financial resources, and community support for their success. United Way Suncoast’s employee culture is one of service, resourcefulness, and equity. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a small collaborative, supportive team, working intelligently, individually, and diligently. A successful VISTA candidate is flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and emotionally intelligent. Previous experience with financial empowerment programs, community building, or partnership engagement is welcome. As a result of VISTA’s efforts, United Way Suncoast will better understand what combination of income services are currently available to the target community, where service gaps are, what best practices can be adopted to enhance program impact, and how to leverage United Way Suncoast resources to make services more accessible and better achieve our goals. Together with your help, we will transform the lives of the most vulnerable children and families in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
