Cherry Health AmeriCorps serves the underserved community by improving health care access through providing Medicaid application assistance, community-based health education, health care interpretation, connection to community resources to meet basic needs, and other enabling services that bridge gaps in health care. Members engage in community service projects to enhance the impact the program has on health and wellness in the community. Members receive training on health care related topics such as health disparities and social determinants of health. Training also includes professional development topics such as resume building, interview skills, cultural humility, self-awareness, and self-care. Members do not engage in prohibited activities.

Member Duties : Member service assignments include activities such as Medicaid enrollment assistance, health education sessions on various health and wellness topics, Spanish-English health care interpretation, outreach to patients to bridge gaps in health care, and referring patients and community members to resources to meet basic needs. Members also engage in team meetings to receive professional development and training, and participate in health and wellness focused service projects. Members do not engage in prohibited activities.
