Monticello Area CAA Fund Development VISTA

Monticello Area Community Action Agency (MACAA) leads the effort to eradicate poverty and improve the lives of low-income people in Central Virginia. MACAA provides programs that benefit preschool-aged children, teens and adults in our communities, which include: Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa, and Nelson Counties, and the City of Charlottesville. MACAA is pursuing unrestricted or temporarily restricted funds that will allow for program development and enhancement in response to critical community needs in the service area. These funds will support pilot programs/collaborations that mirror innovative anti-poverty approaches that have proven to be successful in similar communities, community action agencies, and/or community action programs across the region and country. With this VISTA, MACAA intends to build the capacity of the agency and aims to be prepared to fund innovative programs that will measurably reduce poverty rates in the region.
