Wake County Smart Start Engagement Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
This VISTA position is part of the larger Wake County Food Security and Social Economic Vitality VISTA Program based in Raleigh, NC. The Wake County Smart Start (WCSS) VISTA will help ensure that Wake County’s young children receive the early education, development and social-emotional support they need to be successful in Kindergarten and life. The VISTA project will build the capacity of WCSS by developing a sustainable supporter, volunteer, and donor contact and management system for the agency, and by assisting with engagement strategy efforts.

Member Duties : The VISTA will assess the current state of WCSS’ infrastructure for obtaining and sustaining WCSS’s needed stakeholders, and make recommendations to create or revise policies, procedures, and documents to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of volunteer, supporter and donor relations – with emphasis on communication needs. Additionally, the VISTA will serve as agency’s initial volunteer point of contact for referral to appropriate departments and for corporate teams in volunteer engagement efforts as part of larger advancement activities that builds donor relations with the business sector.
