Breakthrough Cincinnati-Development Specialist

Breakthrough Cincinnati transforms the lives of young people through our unique academic enrichment experiences. Our 6-week summer program, school year program, and college bound program events give vulnerable middle school students a boost through academic, leadership, and college preparatory experiences. At Breakthrough Cincinnati, students experience “it’s cool to be smart” culture that inspires them to adopt a college-going mindset and prepares them for the rigors of college. Alongside their also motivated peers, they learn from college-aged Teaching Fellows who really connect with them. The organization’s over 30-year, time-tested, students-teaching-students model empowers youth and college students to achieve their potential as learners, teachers, and agents of change in their communities.

Member Duties : As the Development Specialist at Breakthrough Cincinnati (BTC), you will play a crucial role in expanding access to the Summer Scholars Program and academic year programming to additional students in 2024-2025. You will serve as a champion of BTC’s unique culture and program with key audiences, establishing a more robust and sustainable system of financial support from Corporations and Foundations. Specifically, you will organize and launch a new Corporate Sponsorship program to allow Corporations to financially support BTC events and annual merchandise. You will engage in a combination of activities, including fundraising, grant writing and reporting, volunteer recruitment, system building, and communications. Ultimately, your work will allow us to grow our number of sites to serve more students in the region. Join our team today! Benefits include a monthly $200 housing stipend to supplement living costs.
